Here are a selection of frequently asked questions relating to the centre and all our activities. If your question is not answered here then please go to the Contact Page to send us an email enquiry or call us.
Q. How big is your swimming pool?
A. The pool is 17 metes long and 9 metres wide. In the shallow end it is 1 metre deep and 3 metres at the deep end
Q. Can we supply our own food at birthday parties?
A. Unfortunately not, all food eaten on site during our birthday parties must be purchased from the Box Cafe. Please contact them on 01223 576110 ext 162 to book your party food.
Q. Can we organise our own party games at our child's birthday party?
A. Yes, once the children have eaten there is time for your to organise party games such as musical bumps and sleeping lions. Don't forget to bring some prizes!
Q. Do pupils from Chesterton Community College get discount for the kidz membership?
A. Our competitively priced kids membership is a standard price for all children under 16yrs. Once children reach 16 they can transfer to a student price and benefit from the adult membership.
Q. How old does the child have to be to start swimming lessons?
A. We recommend that children start swimming lessons at about 4 – 5 years old. However if they have attended parent and toddler lesson they may be ready to start on our scheme from 3 yrs old.
Q. Do you keep lost property?
A. We keep any found items from up to three weeks. If you think you have lost an item at the centre please contact us.
Q. Do I have to book an induction if I have previously used other gyms?
A. All new members have to book an induction into the safe use of equipment regardless of their previous experience. This way we can ensure everyone know the safest way to exercise. To book an induction please contact us, you will need to pay the £10 admin fee when you book to secure your slot.
Q. What should I wear for my induction or when attending an aerobics class?
A. For any exercise you should wear comfortable, loose clothing such as jogging bottoms or cotton trousers and a t-shirt. You must also wear trainers or canvas shoes with closed toes (except for yoga which is done in bare feet). Don't forget to bring a towel and a drink.
Q. What should I do if I cannot attend a lesson that I have already paid for?
A. Unfortunately we are unable to refund swimming lessons or youth activities unless you have a doctors note fro your child's absence.
Q. What should I do if I have a medical condition that may affect my exercise?
A. Most of our activities require you to complete a medical questionnaire. If you tick ‘yes’ in any of the boxes we may ask you to provide a doctors note confirming you are able to complete the level of exercise required. If you have any doubts please contact your doctor prior to your visit.
If you become unable to exercise once you are a member please let us know as soon as you can. We will also need a doctors note so that we can freeze your DD or annual membership.
